We believe in good concepts and good execution when crafting our logos. A good logo sets the tone for a business. It needs to be appropriate, simple in form, and convey the intended message.
Soft Wired is record label based out of Regina, Saskatchewan. The label is focused on lo-fi, ambient music and the identity needed to reflect a lo-fi, hand made feel.
Label head, Michael Dawson (Library Voices, filmmaker, 3on1) came to Hotel with a sketch of his idea. From that sketch we developed a modular design system that could morph or animate with each usage.
As long as Hansen Distillery as been making award winning spirits, we’ve been designing the labels.
FlimBratz is an icon in the Edmonton advertising community. If you’ve made a commercial in the region, chances are the FilmBratz team made you and your idea look really good.
With that in mind, the redesign of the FilmBratz website needed that same care and attention to detail in return. The focus was on showcasing the work and the directors that make it all happen.
#yeg commute was a small campaign about how we get where we need to go in Edmonton. Initiated by the Office of the Mayor, the program strived to understand what a ‘good commute’ in Edmonton is and how Edmontonians can have a healthy balance with different modes and styles of transportation.
Hotel has been lucky to work with TELUS on their TELUS Originals series of documentaries and short films. TELUS Originals is a collaborative effort between TELUS and filmmakers from BC and Alberta to tell Western Canadian stories.
Every one of these stories are deeply human tales. From Faye Stenning’s quest to conquer the Spartan in She Is Spartan to the pioneers of the Trans community in Safety In Numbers, the films dig deep and connect the audience with the story.

Owners Kris and Shayna have one goal: make the best damn spirits in Alberta (and beyond). And with that goal in mind, they've gone and done it again. In the summer of 2017 Hansen released three new specialty rye spirits – Ring of Fire, Red Cask 47 and Cherry Rye.
SNFU founding member, guitarist and legend Marc Belke approached Hotel to help with the release of a couple of previously unreleased tracks. We worked with Marc to create the album art for the singles A Happy Number and Human Cattle which were released on December 1, 2017. To go along with the album art we created a limited edition patch and a promo poster to go in record stores.
Hansen Supply Co. is an homage to all the hard-working people of Alberta. A lifestyle brand born out of the idea that it’s good to kick your feet up and enjoy those long Alberta nights.
Gateway Festival is a family friendly outdoor music festival in Bengough Saskatchewan, population 337. The festival attracts 10x that population for the weekend. For the last couple years Hotel has done the merch design for the festival.
Rad Dads Edmonton is is a group of fathers promoting positive parenting. The group encourage dads to be involved in the lives of their children and community They host events, donate time and create fun outings for the whole family to enjoy.
Hotel has worked with Rad Dads since their inception. From the logo to merchandise to the off-shoot podcast, Hotel has developed the brand into an eclectic yet cohesive force in the city of Edmonton.
Kenilworth Bike Company is a labour of love for three bike-loving dudes down in Edmonton’s Kenilworth neighbourhood.
Ryan, Russ and Davis find all the bikes, restore all the bikes and then send all the bikes back out on the road, ready to be enjoyed all over again.
Hotel worked with the guys to create the brand with bikes and fun in mind. The main logo is a throwback to vintage bike crests of the past.
With beautiful photography from Adrien Veczan, we launched a spring campaign that coincided with KBC’s first pop-up sale. We rounded out the brand experience with a responsive website and merchandise that lived the spirit of the trio.
Instead of traditional business cards, we created a little motorcycle noise maker with vintage hockey cards and clothespins to give to potential customers a memory that they could keep forever (or until the card fell apart).
