Nigel Hood, Edmonton based graphic designer, principal of Hotel Graphic Design Co.

I am Nigel Hood, a graphic designer operating Hotel Graphic Design Co. in Edmonton, Alberta

My practice focuses on identity systems for organizations, communities, and cultural projects. I'm interested in the relationship between design and culture, and how visual identities grow from history, place, and the people who use them. Working closely with clients, I develop visual systems that give those ideas a clear, recognizable form, creating identities that can grow alongside the people and communities they represent.

Alongside client commissions, I pursue self-initiated studies exploring place, memory, music, and subculture. These projects continue to shape my practice, influencing how I research, ask questions, and think about identity.

My work has been recognized through industry awards and publications, including the LogoLounge book series, Applied Arts, the ACE Awards, and the Anvil Awards. Projects have also been featured by CBC and covered by media outlets across Canada.
